About One Love Center for Health
One Love Center for Health, a 501(c)(3), was rooted in health justice by Family Nurse Practitioner colleagues Mahedere (Mimi) Solomon and Michele Bunker-Alberts and community organizer Jumoke Hodge. Originally organized in West Oakland, a community that was experiencing the dangerous health outcomes of inequitable development and striking health disparities that differed from other parts of the City. Over the years, we are seeing those same health and healthcare disparities throughout the Bay Area. We work directly with unhoused and temporarily and unstably housed community residents and health professions students both in their clinical and volunteer capacities to connect people to better health. In Solano County, we are working alongside Vallejo Mobile Health, also a non-profit dedicated to the healthcare of unhoused residents of Vallejo and greater Solano County, community advocacy groups 4th second and Fighting Back Partnership, Touro University of California, and the City of Vallejo via Project Room Key and Project Home Key.
